While it’s hard to believe, another great Home-A-Rama event is less than 2 months away! Each year the Builder’s Association of Greater Indianapolis (BAGI) puts on the Home-A-Rama event to showcase the latest building trends and innovations. Centered on 5 newly constructed homes, Home-A-Rama offers the public a chance to tour state-of-the-art builds, and learn more about the companies behind the designs. Companies around the city have been hard at work preparing for the 2014 show, which begins on June 4.
Joe Garcia, the owner of G&G Custom Homes, is excited for the chance to participate in this year’s show. Joe has also partnered with vendors like The Affordable Companies who will design and construct the new kitchen and also interior designer, Hilari Goris.
“It’s a great opportunity to show off the work we do to so many people,” Garcia said. “We are able to showcase the latest products, and things that they have not seen yet.”
Hilari Goris led the interior design vision for the home and her goal was to create a space where a family can live comfortable yet have the ability to entertain in an upscale fashion across age groups. The images below show a few of the wallcovering designs from the house and a key paint color was Sherwin-Williams’ Collonade gray (SW7641). “The transitional design appeals to all the senses, with a mix of woods, metalics, patterns, textures, and colors,” said Goris who partnered with West Elm Indianapolis to feature affordable furniture and accessories for the home.
The line of cabinetry The Affordable Companies selected for the 2014 Home-A-Rama is a custom line called Circle 5 Pines. They are handmade Amish cabinets made right here in Indiana. There are multiple options for customization, if you can dream it, Circle 5 Pines can build it! Some of the luxurious features are dovetail drawers, soft close hinges and glides, and all wood construction. Be sure and check out the custom roll out bins on each side of the refrigerator. The Affordable Companies is excited to be a part of this year’s Home-A-Rama!

The G&G completed home will feature some very creative ideas including a luxurious, upstairs master suite, a main floor rotunda, a covered patio, and a step-up cigar and poker room. The feature Garcia is most eager to show off is the “hidden” playroom, which is connected to two bedrooms via a walk-in closet. The Home-A-Rama event will begin with an invitation only preview party on Tuesday, June 3, followed by a three-week exhibition that’s open to the general public. Last year’s event drew over 7,000 visitors from all over the city. And this year, the planning committee is estimating that the number will grow to 11,000.
