Using Your AC in Summer — Temperatures and Humidity

Your AC is essential during Indiana’s sweltering summer months to keep your home comfortable. But did you know that installing a new AC can change the temperature you set your home at?

Humidity in the air makes temperatures unequal. The more moisture in the air, the hotter it feels, and vice versa. Temperature alone does not determine how “hot” or “cold” it is. This is why if you install a new AC unit, you may feel unusually cold when you set your AC to the same temperatures you had them at before. Unlike an old or defective one, a new AC unit will very effectively pull the humidity from your home, , making the house feel colder even though you set the same temperatures.

If you’re too cold after installing a new AC, run your AC less. That’s the beauty of a fully functional AC!
